Terms of Service

Effective date: [October 1, 2025] Last updated: [October 2, 2026]

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of www.theplatedparable.com (the “Website”) and to catering, dessert, and related services provided by The Plated Parable, LLC, doing business as The Plated Parable (“The Plated Parable,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the Website, requesting a quote, placing an order, or booking an event, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website or our services.

1. Our services

The Plated Parable provides catering, desserts, and related food services. Menu items, ingredients, availability, pricing, serving sizes, and presentation may vary. Photos and descriptions are illustrative; the finished product may differ in appearance due to the nature of handmade food and ingredient availability.

A quote or inquiry is not a confirmed booking. Your event or order is confirmed only after we accept it and receive any required deposit or payment.

2. Inquiries, quotes, and event bookings

When requesting a quote or booking, you agree to provide accurate information, including your event date, location, guest count, menu selections, dietary needs, and service requirements.

Quotes are valid for 14 days, unless we state otherwise. Prices may change if the event details, guest count, menu, delivery location, or other requirements change. We will communicate any revised price for your approval before proceeding.

A booking is subject to our written confirmation, availability, and receipt of the required deposit. If the invoice terms conflict with these Terms, the invoice terms will apply to that specific booking.

3. Pricing and payment

Prices, deposits, payment deadlines, delivery fees, service charges, taxes, and any other charges will be provided in your quote, invoice, or order confirmation.

Unless your confirmation states otherwise:

  • Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total estimated cost is due to secure the booking.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance is due 14 days before the event date.
  • Payment Methods: We accept [e.g., Credit Card, Bank Transfer, Check].
  • Late Payments: Orders are not final until payment is received. Late payments may result in the cancellation of your event at our discretion.

4. Changes, cancellations, and refunds

Please submit requested changes in writing. Changes to guest count, menu, date, or venue are subject to availability and may incur additional costs. Changes made after 14 days before the event may not be possible.

Cancellation Policy:

  • If you cancel 30 days or more before the event, we will refund your deposit minus a processing fee.
  • If you cancel less than 30 days before the event, you forfeit your deposit.
  • If you cancel within 7 days of the event, the full balance is due and non-refundable.

If we must cancel or cannot provide a confirmed service due to circumstances within our control, we will issue a full refund of any payments made.

5. Food, allergens, and dietary requests

Please disclose all allergies, food sensitivities, and dietary restrictions when placing your order. We will make reasonable efforts to address requests we have agreed to, but we cannot guarantee that any item is completely free of an allergen. Our kitchen and suppliers may handle common allergens, including peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, wheat/gluten, eggs, soy, and shellfish.

Customers are responsible for sharing accurate dietary information with their guests. If you have a severe allergy, contact us before booking to discuss whether we can safely accommodate your needs.

6. Delivery, setup, and event access

You are responsible for providing accurate venue access information and ensuring the venue is ready to receive the order at the agreed time.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, responsibility for the food passes to you upon delivery or handoff. You are responsible for ensuring the food is stored and served at safe temperatures in accordance with Georgia food safety guidelines.

7. Customer responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate order and event information.
  • Obtain any necessary venue permits or approvals.
  • Treat our staff respectfully and provide a safe working environment.

We reserve the right to refuse or end service if conditions are deemed unsafe, unlawful, or materially different from what was agreed upon.

11. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Georgia law, The Plated Parable provides its services “as is.” We are not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific event or order.

12. Events outside our control (Force Majeure)

We are not liable for failure to perform our obligations if such failure is caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to, severe weather, natural disasters, fire, public health emergencies, or government-mandated lockdowns. In such cases, we will work with you to find a reasonable alternative or resolution.
